Venice Ducal Palace
VITTORIO CARPACCIO.
PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS
From March 18th, 2023 to June 18th, 2023

Vittore Carpaccio was an Italian Renaissance painter, active mainly in Venice between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. He is known for his religious, historical, and mythological subject paintings, which are characterized by great attention to detail and vivid colors.

The exhibition at the Ducal Palace in Venice presents a wide selection of Carpaccio’s works, including some of his masterpieces such as the series of paintings on the life of St. Ursula and the painting “St. George and the Dragon”. The exhibition is particularly interesting because it offers a rare opportunity to admire some of Carpaccio’s most important works, many of which have been loaned from private collections or foreign museums and are not easily accessible to the public.

Furthermore, visiting the exhibition at the Ducal Palace in Venice also offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the history and culture of the city. The Ducal Palace was the residence of the doges of Venice for centuries and is one of the most important historical buildings in the city. Through a visit to the exhibition, it is possible to discover not only Carpaccio’s works but also the history and art of Renaissance Venice.
